Purpose of Purim (Winter):
Queen Esther, the Queen of Persian King Ahasuerus, bravely aided the children of Israel from Haman’s plan. Haman, a high-ranking political advisor to the king, was an enemy to the children of Israel and wanted to destroy them all. He did not know that Queen Esther was also one of the children of Israel. With the help and Queen Esther and Mordecai who was her uncle, a decree was issued to allow the children of Israel to fight back and Divinely they defeated their enemies.
Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another. And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far, To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
Purpose of Passover (Spring):
The Most High delivered the children of Israel from bondage under Pharaoh in Egypt. Only those who had the blood of a lamb, which was sacrificed by Moses, on their door posts were saved from that last plague of death of all firstborn of both man and beast.
The children of Israel had to leave Egypt quickly so they made their bread without leavening. They ate The Passover in haste. At midnight, the Egyptians suffered the death of the firstborn. The children of Israel with blood of the lamb on their door posts were spared.
Some time after midnight at the time commanded of The Most High, the children of Israel left Egypt in haste that same night.

Isaiah 55:1-9 (KJV)
1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
